We are excited to announce the successful kick-off meeting of the DEMOQUAS project, held on May 21-22 in Brussels. This marks the beginning of an ambitious journey to revolutionize aviation with sustainability and safety at the forefront. Here’s a closer look at what DEMOQUAS is all about and the highlights from our kick-off meeting.
DEMOQUAS (Design, Manufacturing and Operating Quantification of Uncertainties to increase Aviation Safety) is an innovative project focused on pioneering the future of aviation. We are developing cutting-edge aircraft and engine designs powered by hydrogen, fuel cells, and batteries. Our mission is to make flying greener and more sustainable by rethinking aircraft design and retrofitting existing fleets to meet the highest safety and performance standards.
Our Vision

Project Objectives
The main goal of DEMOQUAS is to develop an effective framework for Uncertainty Quantification (UQ) and to provide various engine and aircraft design tools with UQ capabilities. This initiative will enhance aviation safety, especially with the introduction of novel propulsion technologies. By examining how uncertainties propagate through various lifecycle phases and applying this knowledge to six industrially relevant test cases, we aim to support virtual certification, improve risk management, and inform decision and policy making in the development of new technologies.
The kick-off meeting was a significant event where key stakeholders, including representatives from renowned universities, industrial partners, and innovative SMEs, gathered to set the stage for the project.
The success of DEMOQUAS relies heavily on the collaboration of our interdisciplinary consortium. We are proud to work with experts from academia, industry, and SMEs, bringing together a diverse mix of skills and knowledge.
